Straight body scopes are a little easier to spot a target in the distance and get the scope onto the target. More intuitive, in that respect. I've an old Leupold fixed 30x straight body that I've mounted onto a spare rifle stock that I had. A couple hose clamps and voila!
For most my glassing, I still prefer the angled body. And, of course, if you're spotting up a slope or for star-gazing, an angled body is preferrable.
