This post could open up a lot of opinions, so I would like to start of clearly that this is only my opinion. I have been involved in buying and selling binoculars for nearly ten years and over this time I have found one thing to be certain – Leica Binoculars, Zeiss Binoculars and Swarovski Binoculars are all amazing. But which one is better??

I chose to write about Leica, Zeiss and Swarovski binoculars as these have been considered the “big 3″ in optics for a very long time. I have spoken to hundreds of people out there looking for the answer – which is better?

So here comes the controversry…

If your shopping for a 10×42 Roof Prism binocular and are looking for an answer on which is the best – I am not going to have the answer for you. If you read any “expert” review on these binoculars and someone can hands-down tell you that their choice is the best, then I believe they are either being incentivized by that manufacturer or they have not truly had all of the choices in their hand to compare. Again, only my opinion. I have taken out Leica, Zeiss and Swarovski binoculars into the field many times, and every time I am finished with them, I have some opinions about each – but in the end, I would be pleased to own any of them. Is it possible I am not trained enough to spot the differences however subtle they are? Yes, that is completely possible, but my skeptical side always leads me to believe there is another reason why that model is selected. I worry that many reviews are sided based on incentives from the manufacturer, keep in mind these are three highly competitive brands.

I suggest that we just let any one of the manufacturers send me free binoculars and I would be happy to say theirs are the best!

I don’t think the answer will ever be there. Just like who makes a better truck, Ford or Dodge or Chevrolet, you are going to have strong opinions in either camp.
